California Dreaming + Giveaway!

Lately I have been completely obsessed with having my nails done and matching colors to the season I am in. So in dedication of there being 1 more month of summer, lets continue to use those bright colors!

The OPI collections always have a theme and I specifically chose this one because it features summer colors as well as neutral for those who like to be a little more muted.

Each is priced at $12.50. Usually Ulta will offer a discount off or if you are a member, you can use your points!

Summer Nails

Summer is quickly approaching! It is time to bring out the bright floral colors. After all, that is what summer represents! It does have an infinite shine, which is a glossy texture. The formulas for all O.P.I polishes are extremely thick and creamy. If you have never purchased from this brand, it is most likely the same if not similar to the polishes used in a nail salon when using gel color. Below are polishes from the O.P.I Fiji collection.

Getting Nadi On My Honeymoon

Do You Sea What I Sea?

Living on the Bula-vard!

No Tan Lines

Exotic Birds do not Tweet

These are not all of the colors from the collection but are the ones that stood out to me most. You can check out the entire collection here. Let me know what you think of the colors below in the comments!

Copy Her Style: Keke Palmer

Hi lovies! Keke Palmer recently posted a photo on her instagram with her new short hair. But I wasn’t focused on her hair. Although it does give me Nia Long vibes, I was more focused on the outfit itself. If you guys didn’t know, I love old classic looks! I was so inspired I decided to find a mock of clothes that you can purchase yourself to achieve the same look.

Some of the items below are not the exact clothing in the photo, it is a mock. I tried to find the cheapest price for each item.

Snapped Button Plaid Shirt from Forever 21 $19.90

Grey Spaghetti Strap Crop Top$6.99

Girlfriend High Rise Jeans from Urban Outfitters $49

Superstar Foundation Sneakers from Adidas $55

I enjoyed searching through different sites to find these. It actually introduced me to new sites! I’m actually planning on doing more of these! Also, be sure to follow me on pinterest: @alexus0!

Simple Eye Look

Hey lovies! I’m actually excited for this new post because it is an eye look that I’ve been doing all week. It’s so quick and easy to do in the morning to brighten up your face. I’ve been using the Catrice Sand Nudes Eyeshadow Palette from Ulta. I actually love explaining eye looks so if you like this post, there are definitely more to come!

Price: $6.99

• not tested on animals

• dual sided applicator included

Swatches from palette left to right:

Step 1: For starters, I use more than one brush when applying my eye makeup to create a different effect. Basically all of the applicators I use are from either Bh cosmetics or elf cosmetics.

Using any tapered shadow brush, you are going to pick up the fifth color (slight shimmery taupe brown). Make sure to tap off the excess! You are going to slightly blend into your outer crease using a lighter hand as you gradually bring it into the center.

Step 2: Next you are going to use a smudged brush to cover the entire lid with the third color (peach). Make sure you pat onto the lid rather than rub because the color is shown more.

Step 3: Taking your classic shadow brush, you are going to pick up the fourth color (light mauve brown) and slightly blend in the corner of your outer lid.

Step 4: Again you want to take the smudge brush with the first color (sand pearl) and pat onto the inner lid.

Step 5: Last you can take your tapered shadow brush again and go over the outer crease area bringing it into the center of the crease. This is optional if you feel like the shadow looks dead after you’ve finished your lid shadows.

OPTIONAL STEP 6: If you want to jazz it up a bit, you can bring the fourth shadow (the color put onto the outer lid) on your lower lash line with any fluffy brush of your choice.

My message to you after you’ve completed this look:

Looking for a mascara to finish this look?I used the Big Full Impact Mascara. Check out my review here.

Full Face Using Elf Cosmetics

Recently, Elf cosmetics has been added to Ulta’s website. I am super excited because most likely it will soon be available in select stores. I don’t really like shopping for makeup online. Colors are never scaled as shown so seeing and testing in person is important for me. Elf’s products are cut-rate but exceptional. They are currently having a grand final sale on their website! Literally items are $1! To check out the sale, click here

But before you go, not every product you buy has be over $30 to be the best product in the world. You can create an entire face less than $30 and look just as gorgeous. Today I did what I consider a normal delicate face using only Elf cosmetics.

Poreless Face Primer $6.00

– reduces enlarged pores and fine lines

– infused with tea tree and Vitamin A/E

Acne Fighting Foundation in Caramel $6.00

Instant Brow Lift Pencil in Deep Brown $2.00

3 in 1 Mascara $3.00

Baked Bronzer in Los Cabos $3.00

– perfect use as your bronze and highlight

– contains rose, apricot and grape for hydration and nourishment

Blush in Mellow Mauve $3.00

– blends into a silky finish

Matte Lip Color in Tea Rose $3.00

Okay my total has come up to $26! This same amount is the result of 7 items rather than one item on my face.

All photos are not my own. They from the ulta website. Thank you for reading and I hope this shows you don’t need to go out and spend a ton on one beauty product.

Another Long Effect

New York Color is a noteworthy affordable brand that is basically available in every drugstore including Walmart and Kmart. I would be lying if I said I enjoyed every single product they have created but most of their products are not as bad as the price may set them to be. I obviously have tried this brand before. In fact, most of my mascaras are from here! Practically all! I wanted to spotlight a new buy that I have been loving and that’s the BIG BOLD Full Impact Mascara

It’s literally only $4.99 and works better than ever! It doesn’t make my lashes super clumpy and doesn’t smudge at all. It’s really good at grabbing and lengthening my lashes because it is infused with bamboo and keratin. I definitely recommend buying and trying this. I would not recommend using for bottom lashes since it is a bigger brushes and can probably get messy but you can obviously make it work like I do. Simply use a Q-tip to clean up the extra.

Available at Walmart, Kmart, Target, Family Dollar, and DuaneReade.

Go show off your NYC cosmetic lashes!

Glow Up With Ashley!

Now we all remember High School Musical and Suite Life of Zack and Cody’s favorite blonde! No other than Ashley Tisdale herself. She has partnered up with BH Cosmetics to create a illumination  of (highlight) products that are worth a double take. It has been known that all of Bh cosmetics products are vegan so this is available to everyone. They are known for their pigmented eyeshadows and highlighters with the most affordable prices ever!

I was so intrigued by this collection since I love a shimmery glow that I had to spotlight two items! To be honest, I am actually more excited to see someone from my childhood step into the makeup industry!

She created a palette that is limited to 5 per customer. It is full of warm and sunkissed shimmers. It couldn’t have been released at a better time. This is called Night Goddess by her Illuminate collection with Bh.

Price: $18.00

It is kind of on the expensive side of what BH is known for but obviously price was bumped since it is Ashley Tisdale.

Next, these two shimmer bronzers. Now I don’t wear bronzer mainly because I just feel it makes me look muddy. I love a baked bronzer because you can basically add it to so much! Again, it was limited 5 to each person but I’m sure anyone who wanted to get their hands on it, DID.

Price: $9.00

I do believe these products will be amazing because this company has never failed me once. I hope you guys are just as much as excited for this collection as I am. If you have any questions about their products, you can always send them a message on their web page! Lip glosses and a cream kit is also apart of the collection if you want to check it out go to bhcosmetics.com. Links are directly captioned under photos if interested.
